I moved to Brooklyn on Saturday. I flew into JFK airport at 1:49 and was in my taxi cab by 2:12pm. I live in Greenpoint with one of my dearest friends from high school. My bedroom is just big enough for a full size bed and small dresser. I cannot wait to finish setting up my room and getting my life together. It’s scary as shit out here in the concrete jungle. Everyone is always on a motherfuckin’ mission. I’ve just been dropped in the busiest city in the entire country without a job and only a dream. Like, “here you go, hope you can unpack quickly.”
I almost cried when I saw the view from my rooftop. City of lights. Silence from up high. I was staring out into a sea of eleven million people and thinking I could become a part of it all. I am a part of it all. I am the city now. The time has finally come for me to launch my life into the hard driven East Coastern wild. I’m so so ready.
